Product Brand and Name, Price (CDN), Where Purchased
MAC Mineralize Blush Duo in New Vibe, $27.50 CDN @ MAC.ca
Reason for Purchase
Before I bought this one, I only owned one other Mineralize Due Blush and I love it. I have been lusting after New Vibe for awhile and decided it was time to bite the bullet and get it before it is gone for good.
Notable Features
The blush is made up of two shades: one side is an intense matte fushia pink, the other side is a metallic shimmery gold.
This is a Limited Edition blush. I ordered it from the ‘Goodbyes’ section of the MAC website; I don’t know when it will disappear for good (probably not until they don’t have any left!).
Packaging
This product comes in MAC’s standard black compact.
Experience Using Product
I was very attracted to this product based on the picture on the MAC website. When I received the product, I felt a little misled. Usually, the photos MAC publishes on its website to display its products are very accurate - this one was not! On the website the picture shows a very bright and vibrant blush. In reality, the pink side of this blush is very deep and more on the dark side. I have to say that even my picture makes it look brighter than it really is.
The pigmentation of the blush is great. I was worried about fallout from the shimmery side of the blush, but have found that the shimmer is finely milled - not chunky shimmers.
This product gives my cheeks a nice deep pink flush, with a bit of gold highlight. It’s a bit intense, so I haven’t really used it as much as I thought I would. It would be a great blush for heavily lined and mascara’d eyes and a nude lip.
Would I Re-Purchase, Recommend, or Reject
I feel a bit deceived, because the picture of this product on the MAC website does not match the product in real life. However, I do still really like having it in my collection. Before buying this, I would recommend going to a MAC counter to see it in person to know if you want to buy it; Had I seen it in-store, I probably would not have bought it. If MAC eventually re-releases it as part of a new collection, I would not buy it.
