Product Brand and Name, Price (CDN), Where Purchased
This Limited Edition Mineralize Eye Shadow Duo came as part of the contents of the MAC Swinging Violets Mineralize Kit from the Tartan Tale collection. It is a re-promote from the Antiquitease collection.
The kit may be available at your local MAC counter; it is not available from the MAC.ca website. I bought it at the The Bay in the Rideau Centre (Ottawa) for $58.00 CDN. The eyeshadow is not for individual sale, so I cannot give you a price for that alone.
Reason for Purchase
Part of the Swinging Violets Mineralize Kit from Tartan Tale collection.
Notable Features
It’s Limited Edition and you cannot buy it on it’s own.
One half of this eye shadow duo is a metallic shimmery blue-black with dark pink veining and the other half is a metallic shimmery purple with dark pink veining.
Packaging
This eye shadow duo comes in the standard black MAC compact.
The duo would not fit into an eye shadow Pro Palette.
Experience Using Product
I honestly thought that the black-blue side of the shadow would be more...black. However, when it’s applied, it appears more grey-blue. I don’t mind that - it makes it more wearable for me.
The purple side of this shadow is gorgeous. I have yet to use it! I love the fact that the pink blends in and adds a hint of warmth to this otherwise very blue-toned purple. This is going to look fabulous when dusted lightly over top of a shimmery deep brown base color.
Would I Re-Purchase, Recommend, or Reject
This is not an every-day use kind of eye shadow. It’s definitely more suited to a dramatic look; because of it’s limited usage potential (for me), I will not re-purchase this eye shadow if it is released again in another collection.
I would recommend this eye shadow to someone who doesn’t have an eyeshadow like this in their collection already. However, I would not recommend buying it to you if you don’t want anything else that comes in the set (mascara, a lipglass, and a Paint Pot) - it won’t be worth your money.
