So, it's almost the middle of the week and I haven't put up a new post in quite awhile. I've been extremely busy - I had a jam-packed weekend, and my work week is just as nutty. I taught a course at work today; it was the first time that I taught this particular course. I had fun and I think I did really well. I was a total stress ball this morning! I'm also preparing to write an exam on Friday - I will be very happy when this course is over!
In all this busy-ness, I haven't had a chance to draft up some posts to put up here. I've been pondering an IN and OUT instead. I don't like to do them that often and it's been awhile since my last one, so here we go:
IN:
- Confidence: Always believe that you CAN do it. Trust me. You can.
- Pushing yourself to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new: it ties into the confidence thing, but sometimes you really do have to push yourself to do something. Sometimes the experiences that scare us or make us nervous are the ones that are the most worthwhile to experience.
- Fuchsia or Purple Lips (that fruit punch kind of color): I've been sporting this lip look a lot lately. I love that color! Is it purple or pink? My favorite way to wear it is by applying a fuchsia pink stain as a base and a fuchsia purple gloss overtop.
- Ice Cream: Unless you are lactose intolerant, when is Ice Cream not a good thing?
- Bright Nail Polish: Sometimes they look flashy, but most of the time the color just makes me happy. I love wearing bright, vibrant nail polish!
OUT
- Telling yourself you can't do something before you even try: nothing can undermine your confidence or faith in yourself like telling yourself you can't do something, that you'll do a horrible job, or that you're going to fail.
- Pastels: Why wear a light purple eyeshadow when you could rock a bright purple color instead? I'm not big on pastels...they kind of make me feel frumpy and they wash my already pale skin out. That, and I'm not a huge fan of Easter colors.
- Powder blush: I haven't touched a powder blush in a few weeks; I've been relying on cream blushes (NARS Multiples) instead. They are so much easier to work with, and I love the color intensity they provide. Powder blush isn't even on my radar right now.
- Spending a lot of cash on an item that see frequent use, and will therefore cost much more money to replace: This is my cardinal rule with makeup. I don't drop a large amount of money on products that I use everyday and have to replace frequently: foundation, lip gloss and mascara. I've been itching to try NARS Sheer Matte foundation, but know it is not going to be a smart purchase - I know it will only be a few months before I have to buy a new bottle. My wallet can't take a hit like that every few months.
Do you share any IN and OUT items with me? What do you think of my list?
I hope to get another post out by the end of the week. Enjoy your week!
