NARS eye shadows are pricey; I would strongly recommend that if you are interested in trying out a NARS eye shadow, you pick up a duo instead of a single. The singles are $26.00 CDN each where the duos are $38.00 CDN each - that’s only $12.00 CDN dollars price difference for two shades instead of one. Getting a duo is definitely the better investment!
Packaging
This eye shadow duo comes in a black rubberized mirror-compact, with NARS written in skinny white font on the top. The packaging shows dirt/smudges/oil very easily and is hard to keep clean and looking hygienic.
Experience Using Product
Taiga is an eye shadow duo that did not jump out at me as one that I absolutely had to have. The shades seem fairly ho-hum at first glance.
The first shade of the duo is a light wheat color with shimmer. The pigmentation of this shade is not that great; you have to use quite a lot to get it to show up on pale skin. The second shade in the duo is a dark olive green with shimmers that are the color of the first shade in the duo. Pigmentation in this shade is stellar - the color reminds me a lot of the green ink used on American money.
When I use this eye shadow duo, I put the lighter color on all over the lid and on my lower lash line and then use the olive green color as in the crease and on my upper lash line. The duo looks best when used with an orange-based coral or nude blush, and a brown-based nude lip (with or without shimmer). This is a beautiful duo to use in the fall.
Would I Re-Purchase, Recommend, or Reject
I have recommended this duo to my mom, of all people! My mom is lucky and has more color to her skin than I do - it has olive tone to it. This duo looks awesome on her, with her dark hair and hazel eyes!
I would likely re-purchase this duo only if something happened to the one I already own, or to give it as a gift.
