I wore this look a few days ago and loved the way it looks, so I thought I would share it with you all!
It's a very quick look to do - no muss, no fuss!
What you Need:
- MAC Paint Pot in Blackground
- MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow in Dark Indulgence
- MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow in Clarity
- Mascara ( I use Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume Mascara in Very Black)
- Fluffy Eye Shadow Brush (that can be used for shadow application and blending)
- Concealer or Cream Eye Shadow Brush
Disclaimer: You don't have to use the exact same colors or brand as me if you don't have them - pick something similar or that will work for your skin tone.
What to Do:
To get the best results with this look, apply your foundation, any setting powder and/or bronzer before starting the steps below.
1. Apply Blackground Paint Pot from your lash-line to crease (do not go beyond the crease!); give it a few seconds to dry before moving on to step 2. If there are areas of your eye you struggle to get the product on, try using a concealer brush or cream eye shadow brush.
2. Using an eye shadow brush, pat on Dark Indulgence on top of the Blackground you just applied. I used two applications on each eye to get the color intensity I wanted - you can do more or less depending on how much color you want to see. I took the color just above the crease.
3. Using a big fluffy eye shadow brush, apply Clarity from your crease to brow bone. Clarity will add a lot of shimmer (and some glitter!). If you don't want much glitter, make sure to tap off your brush really well before applying Clarity.
4. With the eye shadow brush of your choice, using a part of your Clarity eyeshadow with no black and lots of the shimmery colors, apply Clarity in your inner corner for a nice highlight. I also took some down near my tear-duct and the beginning of my lower lashline to help brighten my eyes.
5. Using a fluffy eye shadow brush, blend out Dark Indulgence into Clarity, to soften the look of Dark Indulgence in your crease.
6. Brush on two coats of mascara to your upper and lower lashes.
That’s it! A very simple, bold but colorful look. There's no need for outer corner or crease definition because the dark eye shadow is already so dominant and defining.
The same technique for application works with a lot of the MAC Semi Precious shadows...I have tried it with Unsurpassable also (my mom really liked the look of that!), and I am going to give Jade's Fortune a try today. It would look amazing with Blue Sheen or Smoked Ruby, too!
What do guys think of this look? Do you have any suggestions for other look tutorials you want me to do?
Have a Great Day!
