Milestones

Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope your weekend has been treating you well.

This past week was an important one for my blog - I hit 3 major milestones. I surpassed 5000 hits, made my 100th blog post, and also was thrilled to see I surpassed 20 followers!

Now, these may seem relatively infinitesimal achievements to some, but for me they were big achievements! My blog is not yet a year old, which makes the fact that I have achieved these milestones all the more special for me. I love blogging, and I get a tremendous amount of enjoyment from sharing my thoughts on makeup with you all, and interacting with you all online.

While I am on the topic of milestones and anniversaries, I thought it would be a good time for a 3-month check-in on my progress adhering to my New Years Resolutions!

Here is a re-cap of what my resolutions were:

1. No ordering from Sephora this year.
2. Only buy new products to replace ones that you use up.
3. Ordering from MAC will not be a regular thing like it has been lately. I am resolved to only order from collections I really like - no ‘on a whim’ purchases.

#1 - So far, I am doing really well on the Sephora front. No order yet! I am expecting to break this resolution when the next release of Urban Decay's NAKED palette happens. I can and can't believe that this product has sold out twice! The fact I haven't been able to get my hands on it either time is frustrating. I was debating ordering it through E-Bay, but decided not too because buying makeup that way creeps me out! I've added my name to the e-mail listing Sephora has that allows them to e-mail you notification when the item is back in stock. As soon as I get that e-mail, I am buying that palette!

#2 - Toss this resolution out the window. I've bought new products for the sake of buying new products A LOT. That's what happens when you are a beauty blogger, though! I think I have only replaced a used up product twice (a foundation and a nail polish remover!).

#3 - I have not made a single MAC purchase since making my resolution! I was thinking about getting something from the Wonder Woman collection, but everything I was interested in was sold out. There really hasn't been anything released from MAC lately that I feel I 'must have'.

Overall, I'm not doing too badly on keeping up with my resolutions! I've definitely learned what not to be resolved about for next year - making resolutions you can't keep (that would be resolution #2!) is like setting yourself up to be disappointed, so I am not going to make a resolution like that next year!

How are you all doing with your New Years resolutions? To all the other bloggers out there - has your blog reached any milestones that you are proud to share?
